Hi Deidre,

There is no problem with you using the figure in your conf paper.

Dear Dr. Irwin,

I am giving a talk in a month on “Dwarf Galaxies of the Local Group”, which I am subverting to talk about SF processes in dwarf irregulars in general. I would like to include a picture of Leo T from your 2007 paper. I am using IC 10 and Leo T as examples of the extremes of dwarfs of the LG.  To me, it is utterly amazing that Leo T has managed to form stars at all. However, there are also proceedings for this meeting. Your paper will, of course, be referenced for this figure and you are referenced for the discovery. The question is whether you mind if I use your Figure 3 in the proceedings.

Dear Deidre,

That's very cool!  I would be delighted for you to show the figure, both in the talk and in the proceedings.  Incidentally, I had a science related question for you.  Would you be available to chat on the phone sometime next week?

Best,
Janice

Janice,

I am giving a talk in a month on “Dwarf Galaxies of the Local Group”, which I am subverting to talk about SF processes in dwarf irregulars in general. I would like to include a figure from your 2007 paper. I am using IC 10 and Leo T as examples of the extremes of dwarfs of the LG, and so have put them on your plot as big stars. I’ve attached the slide from the power point that I am putting together. However, there are also proceedings. Your paper will, of course, be referenced for this figure and its result. The question is whether you mind if I use it, especially in the proceedings.

Dear Deidre,

I am honoured that my results and plots are worthy. I have no problem with you presenting these results and giving them the voice they need to be heard. It will still be a while until I will manage to travel from our observatory abroad so in a way I see this as you doing me a favour by offering people incentives until I can come to bore them with the gory details. So please go ahead. Also, I am happy with your choice of figures to present and I cannot think of anything I would still add, unless the pressure plots will give something interesting but that is still undergoing so it might not be there in time.

I hope my answer is not coming too late and you have enough time to include the above in your talk. Let me know if you need me to send eps or pdf files of the figures or you have what you need.

Best regards,
Dana

I will be giving a talk in a month on “Dwarf Galaxies of the Local Group”, which I am subverting to talk about SF processes in dwarf irregulars in general. I would like to include some of your results: the combined SF law (Fig  4.25 top left panel) - comparing to spirals of Bigiel et al., SFE (Fig 4.25 middle left panel) - comparing to spirals of Leroy et al, the up turn in radial profiles at low Sigma_HI (Fig 4.28), and the relationship with V (Fig 4.42, bottom left panel, and Fig 3.16, bottom right panel). There is also a proceedings and I have 10 pages to write-up my talk, so this would appear there too. Of course everything will be appropriately referenced to you, but the question is: Are you comfortable with this? I will leave out whatever you want, but would like to include something from your work since it is so central to the big question.

Dear Deidre

No problem to use the figure. Only mention in the proceeding ( courtesy M. Rubio).
i can find the one only with WLM if you wish but go ahead if it is easir for you to erase the IC point.

Best regards

Monica

Monica,

I am giving a talk and would like to show the figure you made for a proposal of I_CO vs 12+log(O/H), showing the WLM detection. There is a proceedings going with this meeting, so it will appear in a book eventually. Is this alright with you? I attach it to remind of the one I am talking about. But I will rub out the IC 1613 reference.
