3.1 The properties memory

The program remembers most of its settings, optical and data reduction configurations and sub-window positions from invocation to invocation.

The settings are stored in a file called .ef_properties in the users home directory. Should this file become corrupted, you may start the program clean by using the -np (NoProperties) command line argument. This file is completely re-written every time the program quits. If you have a favorite configuration that you wish to save, you can do that either by making a copy of the .ef_properties file, or by making the file unwritable.

If you wish to exit the program without saving its current properties, you should de-select the Save properties item of the Program :: Program properties sub-window.
