This software gives you the capability to reconstruct wavefronts without requiring specialized measurement instruments. Due to the fact that the image acquisition and specification of key algorithm parameters is under user control, Laplacian Optics Inc. cannot in general guarantee the accuracy of reconstructed wavefronts. However with reasonable care, high accuracy wavefront measurements are generally achievable. It is the purpose of this chapter to explain in broad terms the requirements placed on extra-focal images for use with this program. For most optical systems, obtaining good extra-focal images should present few difficulties.
