1.4 About this manual
Throughout this manual we use certain conventions to describe interaction
with the program.
- File names
-
When we refer to files we do so in the following font:
ThisIsAFile
to distinguish the file name from the surrounding text.
- Labels
-
Labels within the user interface are always represented in a special
font like
this is a label
which enables you to distinguish a multi-word label from the surrounding
explanatory text.
- Menu traversal
-
Most program functionality can be invoked through the menu structure.
To simplify the description of menu item locations we represent
menu items as;
File :: Save Image.
This should be interpreted as; invoke the Save Image entry in the
file menu.
In addition the above sequence is sometimes used to refer to the sub-window
invoked by the menu choice.
