Biblio folks, Here are object-associations for ApJ volumes 55 and 56, covering the year 1922. More classic papers are indexed here. Some special cases: 1922ApJ....55...85L: Besides a list of ordinary (bright) stars, Lindblad shows results for stars in Messier 11 and in two Selected Areas. I have identified the stars and obtained positions for these, and supply data from this paper as appropriate. For the M11 stars, I give Stratonoff numbers (from Lindblad) and also Kustner names, which are common in SIMBAD. The coordinates come from a reduction of the McNamara et al. proper-motion study to RA/Dec via GSC v1.2 and AC2000 stars (the long list sent around previously). I grabbed V/B-V as available from Mermilliod's WEBDA, from which the cross-IDs were also made. (The 85 "new" spectral types here have been added to WEBDA.) I was not able to identify Stratonoff 635. For SA 63 and 64, I used HA 101 positions as a start to identify the stars in the GSC (v1.1) and elsewhere. The photo-blue magnitudes and types come from Lindblad. Cross-IDs in the BSD and HD/BD are given as well. The Lindblad spectral types were done on plates taken at roughly 160A/mm, and thus should be reliable, and are a useful addition to the literature for these faint stars. The citation for the Stratonoff M11 monograph is: Stratonoff, W. 1899, Publ. Obs. Tachkent no. 1. 1922ApJ....56..139G: This paper is apparently the source of the early numbering system in the field of the nebulous cluster IC 348. SIMBAD is a bit messed up here, with multiple entries for the same star in most cases. I have sent a list of IDs to Gerard Jasniewicz. To make things clear, I give here precise coordinates, GSC names, and spectral types (from this paper, although most stars have been reobserved for this more recently). All the stars, in any case, are already in SIMBAD. 1922ApJ....56..400H: This "famous" paper is already indexed in SIMBAD for some of the objects mentioned. Assembling this file gave me a marvelous feeling of how on-line databases make recovery of the old literature possible, and how the forgotten literature can fill holes in modern datasets.
