The field of NGC 2367 is a bit of a mess in SIMBAD: o Many of the fainter stars are present in SIMBAD with UBV data but without coordinates. o The position for the brightest star (HD 57370ab) is wrong, off by some 30" in RA and 5" in Dec. o This has evidently led to their being bogus positions for other components of the multiple (ADS 5997), again perhaps from the CCDM. o The mean position for ADS 5997AB (a SIMBAD entry for the close, bright pair) should be: 7 20 06 -21 53.0 (2000). o CPD names missing from or not assigned in SIMBAD. I previously adopted the erroneous SIMBAD position of HD 57370 as the center of the cluster, but this needs to be changed as indicated below. The older Lynga position is 3' off in Dec. =============================================================================== Coordinates and identifications for stars in NGC 2367 version: 10 Jul 2003 (2MASS position for BD-21 1880C added) 10 Nov 2001 source: 1972A&AS....7..133V cluster center = HD 57370ab: 7 20 06 -21 53.0 (J2000), diam 6' Name RA (J2000) Dec s GSC remarks 1 7 20 06.52 -21 52 58.3 U 5978-1610 HD 57370 A = CPD-21 2034 2 7 20 06.19 -21 52 57.9 U BD-21 1880B 3* 7 20 10.17 -21 53 27.1 U 5978-0310 BD-21 1882 = CPD-21 2038 4 7 20 07.04 -21 53 41.5 U 5978-0615 CPD-21 2035 = BD-21 1880D 5* 7 20 08.18 -21 54 36.3 U 5978-0772 BD-21 1881 = CPD-21 2037 6* 7 20 14.34 -21 51 42.2 U 5978-1268 CPD-21 2039 7 7 20 06.09 -21 50 48.1 U 5978-1208 GSPC S559-S 8 7 20 09.28 -21 53 48.5 U 5978-0324 9 7 20 05.11 -21 52 45.2 U 5978-1540 BD-21 1880E 10 7 20 03.96 -21 53 10.3 U 5978-0849 11 7 20 04.80 -21 53 56.0 U 5978-0872 GSPC S559-V 12* 7 20 06.73 -21 52 17.7 T 5978-1522 13 7 20 07.39 -21 51 15.9 U GSPC S559-U 14 7 20 11.99 -21 51 16.8 U 5978-1632 GSPC S559-T 15 7 20 02.71 -21 53 30.9 U GSPC S559-W - 7 20 06.94 -21 52 50.7 M BD-21 1880C Notes 3 GSPC S559-R. 5 GSPC S559-Q. 6 brighter of a close pair. 12 position is for brighter of 4" pair; V&M photometry for combined light.
