The list below shows mostly precise coordinates for stars in the field of the globular cluster NGC 6356 from the paper by Sandage & Wallerstein. I show the two dozen stars of their photoelectric sequence and the ten variables listed in the Clement variables catalogue. The variables are all present in SIMBAD but without coordinates. N.B. that the distant, and likely field variable Cl* NGC 6356 SAW V6 = V1995 Oph, which has a separate entry in SIMBAD with additional biblio. I used the S&W charts for all the stars except V6, where the chart of Coutts Clement & Sawyer Hogg (1977AJ.....82..968C) was examined. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stars in NGC 6356 version: 20 Aug 2006 source: 1960ApJ...131..598S SANDAGE A. and WALLERSTEIN G.
