A paper containing detailed MK types for 269 bright M-type stars by Yamashita appears to have been overlooked in SIMBAD and in compilations of spectral classifications. All the spectra were taken at 30A/mm (H-gamma) = 100A/mm (5900A). I show the list below along with Tycho-2 or UCAC2 coordinates, V magnitudes, and the types. The bibcode and citation are new. I have modified Yamashita's types only in regard to the placement of the 'S' for transitional MS-type stars. An example is the entry for HR 363, where Yamashita shows 'M3IIbS', whereas the usual configuration is 'M3SIIb'. Yamashita's paper contains extensive descriptive notes on the spectra for many of the stars.
