Welcome to Data Desk 6.1. Data Desk is an interactive data 
analysis package that helps you find patterns and 
relationships in your data. This package contains several 
items to help you learn and use Data Desk. 

1) The QuickTour file offers a quick overview of Data Desk.
2) The Quickstart Guide, along with the Tutorial datafile, 
provides an introduction to Data Desk using an analysis of 
real data.
3) The Handbook and Statistics Guide provide extensive 
guidance and examples.
4) The Help file offers on-line help.
5) A list of Frequently Asked Questions on our web site at 
www.datadesk.com provides detailed answers for many popular 
questions.


To install Data Desk 6.1 on your hard drive, launch the 
program "Install" and follow the directions provided.

The Installer application installs Data Desk and its 
associated files on your hard drive. The installer places 
the version of Data Desk which is appropriate for your 
hardware.  

Those of you who have used previous versions of Data Desk 
will find that the interface has not changed much. Even if 
you used to use Data Desk on Macintosh and are now running 
it on Windows, you should feel right at home with the 
interface.

Also included on this CD Rom are demonstration versions of 
Viz!on and ActivStats. ActivStats is our multimedia 
statistics training course. Click the Launch ActivStats Demo 
button to launch a demonstration version of ActivStats. This 
demonstration version allows you to work through 3 sample 
lessons. The full version of ActivStats holds 25 lessons 
with over over 60 hours of training content.

Viz!on is a set of visualization add-ins for Excel. Click 
the Install Viz!on Demo button to install Viz!on and its 
associated files on your computer. The Viz!on Help file 
tells you everything you need to know to use Viz!on.
